I would like tell web conferencing is also eco-friendly. RHUB is a web meeting appliance that consumes less than 5 watts, which is lower than what an LED nightlight consumes; and it’s absolutely noiseless for it doesn’t have a fan.

Hello,

I am not an expert in on-line communications, but I have been using Webex to deliver training sessions (in powerpoint) to groups of up to ten IT resellers throughout Europe. The results are mixed. Once everyone is in and its running, the presentation and sharing tools are easy to use and reliable. We use a toll free phone number for audio - we got it from an IP service provider and it costs next to nothing to run. All users get CLEAR joining instruction directly from webex - this is a plus.

The only issue seems to be with the time it takes to load the application into the browser if you are joining webex for the first time. Also some company firewalls block the content. We always tell people that we will start ten minutes late while everyone joins and this is fine, ...just factor this into your timing.

Poeple seem to be looking at costs here, but for us who are delivering seminars every week in different countries, we need reliabilty and speed - and Webex (at least for us) delivers these things.

I hope this feedback is useful and that I managed to reply without being rude to anyone. :0)

I too am looking at both solutions and must say that right now I would lean towards the GotoWebinar service. I just got off the phone with Webex and the pricing was more and I was not able to have as many participants.

I went to a webinar early this week which used GotoWebinar and the experience was great and the audio, while not THX, was pretty good. The webinar had 1000 people in the session too.

So far GotoWebinar is the horse I am going with:)

Someone sounds a little testy that GotoWebinar is eating his lunch, ROFL. Your critique is so transparent. I am an end user considering the 2 services you mention, Cisco Event Center and GotoWebinar and for what its worth, the pricing for GotoWebinar seems pretty unbeatable, no 6 month contract as with Webex, no per minute audio usage charges as with Webex. Now, the support/hand-holding you describe could be a real benefit that would make one choose Webex and the audio call clarity of course is crucial as well, what good is free if it sounds like I am speaking from inside a jet engine test facility? The security? sounds like snake oil, https: is fine for 99% of the market and cross platform support? There is this little company in Redmond Washington that currently owns the business market desktop just as an FYI.

In addition,

WebEx offers both live training and thorough on demand courses for Event Center. Also, WebEx offers a dedicated customer service manager, and 24/7/365 live technical support. on top of that, WebEx offers fuoll Production assistance for all events with over 6 hours of professional event consulting, Integrated audio to control the audio portion of the event -
(what if someone were to put you on hold with hold music on Goto webinar?) , and a private secure and reliable network which is totally cross platform to ensure no technical errors. WebEx also offers far superior registration and enrollment and email engine capabilities, along with live, or recorded video and multimedia, lead scoring, registration tracking, whiteboarding and attendee rules.

you might want to do a little research next time before informing the blogosphere of your incredible findings.

I could compare a pair of sneakers with a ford taurus, but it wouldnt make much sense, would it?

However, comparing goto webinar and WebEx EVENT CENTER is like comparing a Taurus to a Rolls Royce.

Sharon,

Webex Meet Me Now, and Citrix - GOto Webinar, are completely differnt products, and not for the same thing at all. WebEx Meetmenow is a desktop sharing application to hold small meetings with up to 10 people, and goto webinar is a marketing webinar app which allows you to meet with up to 1000. You should have compared WebEx EVENT Center with goto webinar. or MEETING CENTER with goto meeting.

Your comparison is unfortunately useless.
